The Occupational Health and Safety Committee reviews and makes recommendations on present and proposed Public Service policies and standards on occupational safety and health and other directly related subjects.
This Committee reviews the Uniforms Directive, the Directive on First Aid to the General Public - Allowance for Employees and the Occupational Health and Safety Directive and hears final level grievances on these authorities, when required by the Executive Committee.

Quarterly Report to the National Joint Council (December 2018)
- The Committee has not met since the last Council meeting.
- The Committee also wishes to note the departure of Allan Hughes, from UNIFOR, and thank him for his contribution to the Committee.
Cyclical review activities:
- The input calls for the cyclical review of the Occupational Health and Safety Directive, the Uniforms Directive and First Aid to the General Public – Allowance for Employees is set for December 31, 2018.
- One (1) grievance related to Regional Policy Health and Safety Committees. The grievance is currently at the analysis stage as we await additional documentation from the parties. It is anticipated that once this documentation is received, the grievance will be referred directly to the Executive Committee for a preliminary decision on timeliness.
