The Occupational Health and Safety Committee reviews and makes recommendations on present and proposed Public Service policies and standards on occupational safety and health and other directly related subjects.
This Committee reviews the Uniforms Directive, the Directive on First Aid to the General Public - Allowance for Employees and the Occupational Health and Safety Directive and hears final level grievances on these authorities, when required by the Executive Committee.

Quarterly Report to the National Joint Council (June 2018)
- The Committee has met once (1) since the last Council meeting.
- The Committee welcomed one new Employer Side member, Bruce Christianson, RCMP.
- The Committee discussed promoting the PSPC standard for legionella testing in the absence of a departmental standard. The type and level of involvement of the OHS Committee was considered. Ultimately, the Committee agreed that a communiqué about legionella and testing standards should be sent through the SWOHS committee as the purpose falls within their mandate.
Cyclical review activities:
- The input calls for the cyclical review of the Occupational Health and Safety Directive, the Uniforms Directive and First Aid to the General Public – Allowance for Employees have been extended to May 1, 2018.
