Kilometric rates payable for the use of privately owned vehicles driven on authorized government business are established by the National Joint Council (NJC) Executive Committee and are reviewed on a yearly basis. Since July 2000, however, kilometric rates have been reviewed on a quarterly basis as a temporary measure to address fluctuations in gasoline prices.

For your information, the January 1st, 2001 kilometric rates were reviewed for the first and second quarters of year 2001. As they were found to be current, they remain the same. The next review is scheduled for October 1st, 2001.
