The National Joint Council (NJC) is pleased to announce that a determination on the outstanding items which were at impasse has been reached via third-party resolution in accordance with section 11.2 of the NJC By-Laws.
Implementation Date
The revised version of the Travel Directive is effective March 28, 2026.

Highlights of Changes
The following are the changes made to the Travel Directive resulting from the arbitral award.
Changes to the Directive
Dependant Care provisions:
- Increase from $35.00 to $50.00 per day per household for Dependant Care with a declaration.
- Increase from $75.00 to $100.00 per day per dependant (changed from per household) for Dependant Care with a receipt for services provided by an individual or company in the business of providing dependant care services.
- The wording “Declarations will not be accepted” for Dependant Care provided by professionals or companies in the business of providing dependant care services was added.
- The above changes impact all 4 modules of the Directive (3.1.5, 3.2.5, 3.3.5, and 3.4.5).
Incidental Expense Allowance:
- Increase from $17.30 to $25.00 per day.
