The grievor sought reimbursement for the cost of an automobile.

The grievor purchased a vehicle upon posting. At the time of leaving the post the host countries laws made it mandatory to either export the vehicle or turn the vehicle over to the host government. As the vehicle did not meet Canadian specifications it could not be exported and was turned over to the government of the host country.

The Administrative Committee noted that the Foreign Service Directives Committee could not reach agreement on the intent of the Directives.

The Administrative Committee could come to no agreement as to the intent of the Policy.
