The grievor sought reimbursement of rent share for a period when his shipment of personal effects had not arrived.

The grievor was cross posted in the summer of 1989 and occupied permanent accommodation at the new post while awaiting the arrival of a sea shipment of effects. The shipment of effects did not arrive until some 4 months later. The grievor had not questioned the break down of effects shipped by air and sea at the time of relocation.

The Administrative Committee considered and agreed with the report of the Foreign Service Directives Committee in that the grievor had been treated within the intent of the Directive as there is no provision for compensation for pain and suffering resulting from the delayed arrival of effects.

The grievance was denied.
