The grievor sought a definition of dependant under the Directive which would provide for reimbursement of the costs of the grievors children's' travel when on vacation away from the grievors place of work.
The grievor was divorced and had access and visiting rights. The children did not live with the grievor at the grievor's headquarters residence.
The Administrative Committee considered and agreed with the report of the Isolated Posts Committee in that as the children were not living with the grievor, they are not considered dependants under Section 2 of the Directive. Therefore, the grievor was treated within the intent of the Directive.
The grievance was denied.
