Background
The employees grieved the fact that management did not inform them that the breakfast allowance would not be provided if the hotel offered a complimentary breakfast. The grievors maintained that the available breakfast was not suitable to their needs.
Executive Committee Decision
The Executive Committee considered the documentation and the circumstances in this case as well as the precedent grievances. The Committee could not come to an agreement on the intent of section 3.3.9 of the Travel Directive in this case. As such, the Executive Committee reached an impasse.
