Background
The employee grieved the Employer's decision not to reimburse relocation costs.
Executive Committee Decision
The Executive Committee considered the information provided in this case and agreed that the employee was not entitled to the reimbursement of relocation expenses. It was noted that the employee was informed that relocation assistance would not be received, however the grievor elected to accept the transfer and to proceed with the relocation.
The Executive Committee also considered the issue of timeliness and agreed that the grievor moved in 2007 and did not seek to remedy the situation until 2010. As such, the grievance was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction and moreover was deemed untimely.
