Background

The employees grieved the department's refusal to provide Commuting Assistance. 

Executive Committee Decision

The Executive Committee considered the report of the Government Travel Committee and the timelines in this case.  While the report from the Government Travel Committee indicated an impasse had been reached on the issue of timeliness.  Notwithstanding the issue of timeliness, the Executive Committee agreed the grievor had been treated within the intent of the Commuting Assistance Directive and consequently denied the grievance.
