The Executive Committee considered a grievance with regard to travel expenses within the headquarters area.

The NJC by-laws provide for the presentation of a grievance not later than the twenty-fifth (25th) day after the date on which an employee is notified or becomes aware of the action or circumstance giving rise to the grievance.

In this particular case, the Executive Committee noted that the grievance was filed on May 6, 1997. As the grievor sought retroactive payments for the period January to July 1993, the Committee agreed that the grievance was untimely.
