The Executive Committee considered a grievance with regard to Transportation Costs - Overtime.
The NJC by-laws provide for the presentation of a grievance not later than the twenty-fifth (25th) day after the date on which an employee is notified or becomes aware of the action or circumstance giving rise to the grievance.
In this particular case, the Executive Committee noted that the grievance was filed on December 10, 1998 and that the grievor sought retroactive payments for the period of April 1997 to March 1998. Consequently, it was agreed that the grievance was untimely.
