The grievor sought reinstatement of the married rate of environmental allowance. The grievor was assigned to a fisheries patrol vessel whose home port was an isolated post. He resided with his family at another isolated post. Because his family did not reside at the post which was his home port, his environmental allowance was reduced from married to single and the overpayment which had taken place was being recovered through payroll deduction.
The Administrative Committee considered and agreed with the report of the Isolated Posts Committee in that the grievor had been treated within the intent of the directive because none of his dependents resided with him at the isolated post to which he was assigned.
The grievance was denied.
