The grievor sought a thirty dollar allowance for safety boots that the grievor considered necessary and essential to work.

The department had established a policy on protective clothing and equipment for the work area in question and as a result of that policy, provided the employees with protective footwear in the form of rubber boots.

The Administrative Committee considered and agreed with the report of the Occupational Health, Safety and Physical Working Conditions Committee in that it was noted that a policy had been established, the bargaining agent had been consulted and the department had decided that the position was not one that required personal protective equipment. Therefore, it was agreed that the grievor was being treated within the intent of the Personal Protective Equipment Safety Standard, TB-STD- 3-14.

The grievance was denied.
