The Dental Care Board of Management (NJC Part) is responsible for the overall administration of the Plan, resolving members' complaints regarding eligibility or claims disputes with the Administrator, monitoring the claims settlement performance of the Administrator, and recommending changes to the Plan.

Regular Activities
- The Board of Management has met two (2) times since the last Council meeting and examined eight (8) appeals.
- The appeals reviewed by the Board related to the limits on the frequency of fluoride application and oral examinations, dental crowns, the annual maximum for fillings, the lifetime maximum for orthodontic treatment, the 15-month claim submission deadline, and surface inlays/onlays. Of the eight (8) appeals, two (2) appeals were allowed on an exceptional basis, and six (6) were denied in accordance with the Plan’s limitations.
- The Board received a presentation from Canada Life (CL) on the Public Service Dental Care Plan 2026 Q1 results.
- The Board received an update on the application of eligibility provisions for over-age dependent children with an impairment. Guidance was provided to CL and the Board was advised of the resulting impacts on the handling and reassessment of certain cases. The Board will continue to monitor developments and their implications for appeals.
