Purpose
The Human Resources Management Integrating Committee will support the work of the DMHRMAC, a Sub-Committee of COSO, and provide a forum for the integrated development and implementation of an HRM agenda for the public service.
Mandate
The mandate of the HRMIC is to:
- Forward issues for the DMHRMAC consideration, and, coordinate within Central Agency mandates, coordinate the follow-up to decisions and advice from the DMHRMAC, COSO and the Public Service Commission;
- Discuss and resolve issues within its purview;
- Ensure horizontal integration of project plans and priorities;
- Identify and manage corporate resources and risks;
- Check and challenge against priorities;
- Leverage best practices and technology.

- Two line ADMs (PWGSC and regional representation)
- Other ADMs and VPs as required by meeting agendas
Procedures
- The HRMIC will:
- provide horizontal integration of project plans and priorities; and
- provide vertical integration support for information flowing up for consideration and down for action.
- The HRMIC will facilitate consultations undertaken with stakeholders, e.g., National Joint Council, Regional Councils, Small Agency Administrative Network, functional communities, line ADMs.
- HRM initiatives requiring consultation or horizontal integration may be raised by individual members or organizations at the HRMIC for consideration and forwarding to the DMHRMAC.
- Individual members will act as key entry point to their organizations for communication and feedback.
- The Director-General, Strategic Management and Planning will serve as Secretary to the HRMIC.
- Secretariat services for the HRMIC will be provided by PSHRMAC. The Secretariat will be responsible for the preparation of meeting agendas, for ensuring the transparency of proceedings, and for the maintenance of a forward planning calendar and records of decision. Members will be responsible for providing documentation to support agenda items on a timely basis in both official languages.
Frequency of meetings
The HRMIC will meet monthly or more frequently as required to support the work of the DMHRMAC, as determined by the Chairperson.
